Disney Parks Blog released a post this afternoon about some changes to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. While there has been many changes to it since it has opened, this one seems to be causing lots of talking and back and forth.

There has been changes in the past to other scenes, but this one is very iconic and one that many Disney fans know very well.

“We wants the redhead!” Might be a term you won’t hear much longer. It looks like the bride auction scene is getting redone. It seems as though that familiar redheaded bride you always saw as you came around the corner, will now be helping the local townspeople “unload” their valuables at the Mercado auction. With a rifle in hand, might I add.

These changes will be at both Disneyland, and Walt Disney World, in 2018 following the previous changes it has seen. I can see how many loyal Pirates of the Caribbean fans might be upset over these changes and I am only assuming that we might no longer hear those iconic words, but some might also see it as a form of empowerment, or simply not care LOL.

Yes they are taking away a classic moment, but they are turning her into a woman of power for the younger generation. Instead of having her as a “wench for sale” she is now a woman of power and shows a bit more strength in the world of pirates which were all men. I think Disney knows what they are doing and I’m liking the idea.

The other cool thing is that Pirates of the Caribbean will reopen at Disneyland Paris on July 24 with many new surprises and new pirates as well. With the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie being the inspiration behind it.

Captain Barbossa, from the movie, will appear in the ride for the first time, joining a skeletal crew in a scene unique to Disneyland Paris. Also, ghostly appearances of Davy Jones and Blackbeard will warn that “dead men DO tell tales!” I think that it is pretty cool that they are there. They are the creepiest pirates and good asset to the movie. So if they wanted to make the ride off of it, it sounds like they nailed it.
