Raise your hand if you have ever had a migraine in your life? It keeps you locked in a dark room, no noise for days at a time. I know many, if not all of you have had this happen at least once.

A migraine can cause severe throbbing pain or pulsing sensation, usually on one side of the head. It’s often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound.(Mayo Clinic)

Migraine attacks can last anywhere from hours to days and the pain can be so excruciating that it is often debilitating. 90% of migraine sufferers have light sensitivity, about 12% have migraine attacks

To chronic migraines sufferers like myself, we can sometimes get the symptoms and start acting on them and stop the migraines before it starts. Takes the meds, drink lots of water, sometimes an ice-cold gatorade does the trick. We have our ways to battle it.

There are different kinds of migraines and different severities too. I suffer from 3 and the severity is bad enough to bring me to the ER and keep me there for  week.

Some migraines happen with auras which is a symptom of the nervous system. They are visual disturbances like a flash of light, or zig zags, in your vision. Sometimes auras aren’t just visual, they could be sensory as well which is what I experience at times. my face and hands go numb when I get severe migraines.

Other warning signs that a migraine is on the horizon are:

  • Constipation
  • Stiff neck
  • Food craving
  • Mood changes

And once that migraine is over, be it how  ever long it takes, the “hangover” begins. We call it the hangover because that is pretty much what it feels like. You’re tired, worn out, kind of feel beat up and weak. But some people do feel better.

I think I might have found a great solution to helping avoid and lessen the chances of a migraine attack be so painful.

Axon Optical

I was looking for glasses that could help me reduce the lighting indoors and I came across these. They happily sent me a pair to review for you all and I’ve been using them everywhere to see how effective they are. They are made specifically for migraine sufferers and have several different styles of glasses. Axon Optical has outdoor and indoor use glasses, and you can even send them your prescription in too. Check them out here.

Since I’ve been getting migraines for years, they give me warning signs so when that happens I put on my Axon glasses and try to relax. The lights really, really, REALLY bother me even when I don’t have a headache or migraine so imagine when I do…

By wearing my Axon glasses it helps reduce my sensitivity to the light thus making me more comfortable indoors. These glasses have been amazing so far and I really do like them.

They do block out a certain wavelengths of light that cause us to have migraines and help us feel more comfortable. I’ve worn my maddi model Axon glasses to places that trigger my migraines and I’m able to enjoy and have fun without the worry of pain and having to leave and take my migraine medication.

The Axon glasses are very lightweight and stylish. They have many different styles to choose from and I’m very happy I found them because when I have a few migraines that give warnings well in advance, I can put my Axon glasses on and lessen the pain of one of the most dreadful experiences in the world.
